Beyond the label

If you love elegant whites that balance luscious fruit flavors with mouthwatering vibrancy, you’re in for a real treat with Chemin du Belvédère. This lovely French Marsanne has absolutely everything going for it.

Chemin du Belvédère was crafted by talented winemaker Xavier Frouin at the renowned Cave de Tain cooperative. Among the co-op’s many fans is critic Jeb Dunnuck, who writes, “Cave de Tain has significant holdings in top sites throughout the northern Rhône. I consider this one of the finest co-ops in the world...they make a bevy of truly outstanding wines.”

Needless to say, Xavier and his team know what they’re doing in the vineyard and cellar. They selected perfectly ripened Marsanne grapes grown in plots around the winery, along with a special parcel from a prestigious appellation. Marsanne is a highly prized grape in southern France. Best known as the force behind rare and expensive white Hermitage (which can also feature Roussanne), Marsanne is equally famous starring alongside Roussanne and Viognier in the opulent, pricey blends of the Rhône Valley, most notably white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. And Chemin du Belvédère is a beautiful example.

Look forward to fresh tropical fruit, white flower and citrus zest aromas. Complex and elegant, the palate offers ripe apricot, citrus and acacia flavors, plus a fine mineral backbone and long, vibrant finish. Delicious with hearty seafood, white meats or creamy vegetarian risottos.

It’s quite rare to see Marsanne bottled on its own, and Chemin du Belvédère is one of the best we’ve tasted. Order today and prepare to impress your white-wine-loving guests.
