If Viña Casa Silva isn’t on your radar yet, it should be.
The Silva family’s winemaking history dates to 1892, when patriarch Emilio Bouchon emigrated from Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux and began making wine. Five generations later, the family established their modern outfit, Viña Casa Silva, in 1997.
And, it’s already become one of Chile’s foremost estates, winning the ‘Winery of the Year’ title in 2013 from The Wines of Chile and earning the distinction of “Most Awarded Winery of the 21st Century” (Vitis). So when our expert convinced them to make this exclusive Pinot Noir just for our customers, it was a serious win.
Cinco Manos hails from the family’s high-altitude Colchagua Valley vineyards, where grapes benefit from cool Pacific Ocean breezes and that brilliant (intense!) Chilean sunshine—a quality advantage that gives their Pinot Noir a perfectly ripened, fresh and complex character (watch out, France!). Thanks to a brief slumber in oak barrels, the wine has a lovely cedar note framing the cherry and berry fruit flavors.
Limited cases imported—and with all the buzz around this historic family and their estate, you’ll want to get your hands on this fine Pinot before we’ve sold out.
If Viña Casa Silva isn’t on your radar yet, it should be.
