Hole in the Clouds hails from the Rose family. Led by Wine Marlborough Lifetime Achievement Award winner Phil Rose, they were one of the first producers to plant in the Golden Mile (the Marlborough region’s original and best vineyard strip). Their estate lies in the Kei Puta Te Wairau valley, which means ‘hole in the clouds’ in the local Maori dialect. The name speaks to the valley’s beautiful landscape, marked by brilliant sunshine, regal mountains and the ever-changing sea.
