Flavor Profile
From humble origins as a wine-loving waiter to a self-proclaimed “cellar rat,” Edgar Torres worked day and night to achieve his dream of becoming a winemaker. And he did, making history as the first Mexican American winemaker in California’s exciting Paso Robles region. La Güera is his way of honoring the region and people who helped him along the way:
“It’s my tribute to the wine region that took a chance on a young man and his dream. I am showcasing the grapes and vineyards that I believe possess the mystical ability to touch your soul the way they’ve touched mine.”
The grapes and vineyards in question? Edgar selected Albariño (the great white grape variety of Spain) and a small portion of Torrontés (Argentina’s star white grape) grown in the Lago Vineyard and Shale Oak Vineyard. After aging in amphora for six months, the white wine is beautifully vibrant and expressive. Look for honeysuckle and sweet melon aromas, with a crisp, balanced palate that has a mineral freshness plus hints of lemon and hazelnut.
A delicious match for anything from grilled seafood to summer salads, this Paso Robles white wine deserves a spot in your rack. Order La Güera today.
