Flavor Profile
Red-wine enthusiasts are always looking for the perfect red to serve with beef. If that’s you, look no further. Our expert, Jean-Marc Sauboua, has found the ultimate beef red.
A couple years back, Jean-Marc attended the historic Fête des Boeufs Gras in the village of Bazas. Founded in 1283, the festival celebrates the indigenous Bazadaise cattle, which are paraded through the streets. Spectators vote on the most handsome bull, and the winner is crowned Le Roi Boeuf (‘The Beef King’). The experience inspired Jean-Marc to find a red worthy of Bazas’ delicious local beef dishes.
Jean-Marc discovered this sumptuous red in the cellars of talented winemaker Lionel Osmin. It’s made with pure Tannat from the great 2019 vintage and debuted to a Gilbert & Gaillard gold medal. Here’s what the judges had to say:
“Floral nose of peony and violet with red and black berry notes. The palate delivers lingering concentrated fruitiness and crisp, compelling juiciness, all of which is laced with energizing tannins. Heady, flavorful finish. A modern, fresh wine.”
If you’re a red-wine fan, you’ve got to taste this luscious French gold medalist. Order your share today and prepare to fire up the grill (or oven) for your favorite beef dishes.
