Beyond the label

The Jumper is a classically styled New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc crafted by James Macdonald. He’s nephew to Jane Hunter (“The First Lady of New Zealand Wine”) and winemaker at Hunter’s Wines, one of the most renowned family estates in the premium Marlborough region.

New Zealand wine expert Sam Kim fell for The Jumper’s charms a few vintages ago, rating it 4 out of 5 stars: “This is attractively aromatic on the nose showing nectarine, feijoa, lime zest and dill characters, leading to a lively palate that delivers pristine fruit intensity backed by crisp acidity. The wine is immediately appealing with plenty of vibrant, tasty flavors.” Just wait until you taste the equally dazzling 2023 release.

James has traveled all over the globe, honing his craft at top estates around the world (the name “The Jumper” is a nod to his globetrotting antics). Delicious on its own, it’s also a great match for a wide array of seafood dishes and mildly spicy Asian cuisine.

Just like its maker, this fine Sauvignon Blanc won’t stay idle for long—between skyrocketing global demand and back-to-back tiny harvests, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is in incredibly short supply worldwide. Act now to secure your share of this perennial bestseller.
