Twelve Giants Merlot Paper Bottle 2022
Wine Details
Flavor Profile
On a ridge overlooking the plains of Castilla sit a dozen white windmills. Or giants, as imagined by Don Quixote in the 17th-century literary epic. Born from the same red soil, Twelve Giants Merlot takes inspiration from his ambitious quest.
It’s crafted by the Castro family, who has made wine for six generations. Ever the innovators, they packaged the Merlot in a lightweight shell made from recycled and recyclable paper. When empty, this bottle can be flat-packed and weighs less than three ounces (almost five times lighter than a conventional glass bottle). Overall, it reduces carbon emissions by around 90% compared to glass, so together we can do more than just "tilt at windmills."
Of course, this exciting Merlot doesn’t only do good for the earth. It’s also delicious—bursting with juicy red plum and gentle spice. Perfect for a plate of Manchego cheese and jamón serrano.
