Beyond the label

It’s no secret that France’s Burgundy region produces some of the world’s finest (and priciest) Chardonnay. For delicious, great-value alternatives, savvy wine lovers head to southern France. And that’s exactly where our expert found this supremely elegant Chardonnay for you. Judges at the Sunset International Wine Competition were so impressed, they awarded it a gold medal.

Domaine la Domitienne lies in the commune of Sauvian, just three miles from the Mediterranean Sea. Besides being totally picturesque, this location is a haven for viticulture. The vines benefit from brilliant sunshine, which ripens grapes to perfection, along with cooling sea breezes that lock in freshness. Oh, and did we mention the area has a rich history, too? Domaine la Domitienne is named for the Via Domitia, an ancient Roman road that passes through the vineyards.

This gorgeous Chardonnay offers refreshing, vibrant citrus aromas, complemented by rounded, creamy stone-fruit flavors. Winemaker Yannick Pons recommends you pair it with roasted chicken or linguine with clams (a favorite local match).

If you’re a fan of fresh French Chardonnay, you’ll definitely want to get this lovely new wine in your glass. Order your share today.
