Flavor Profile
Pensée de Gassac hails from the iconic Mas de Daumas Gassac estate, which famed World Atlas of Wine writer Hugh Johnson has called “a Château Lafite Rothschild in the Languedoc” and, similarly, “the only Premier Grand Cru estate of the Languedoc.” The praise doesn’t stop there. Master of Wine Michael Broadbent has called their Grand Vin “one of the 10 best wines in the world”…and top UK critic Oz Clarke has hailed their Grande Réserve de Gassac Rouge as “a fabulous exclusive, but at a fraction of the price.”
Now, you can be among an elite few to taste Pensée de Gassac, yet another exclusive wine that the family makes just for our customers.
Aimé and Véronique Guibert founded Mas de Daumas Gassac in a remote southern French valley in 1970. As you can see from all the critical kudos, the family is famous for the care they lavish on their vineyards, which are farmed without chemicals or pesticides. Today, Aimé’s sons Samuel and Roman are at the helm, and they make Pensée de Gassac with the same quality standards as they put into their estate’s Grand Vin.
Blending Syrah, one of southern France’s star red grapes, with Merlot and Cabernet, Pensée de Gassac offers ripe red-fruit aromas, with hints of violet, black pepper and oak. The palate brings in juicy black fruit and delicate spice flavors. Fresh and silky, it’s a delicious match for poultry dishes, game meats or hearty vegetarian meals.
Amazing quality for the price. Secure your share while our limited cases last.
